The primary domains in which human life is experienced, stewarded, and expressed.

The Fields of Life concern the primary domains in which human life is experienced, expressed, and stewarded. They represent the enduring areas of participation through which individuals pursue wellbeing, cultivate relationships, contribute to the world, and shape the conditions within which life unfolds.

Within The Landscape of Living, the Fields of Life are the domains in which development, character, and practice become visible. They are not mechanisms of growth themselves but the arenas in which growth is expressed. The capacities developed through The Process of Becoming, the virtues cultivated through Character, and the practices established through The Practice of Living find their lived expression within these fields.

The Fields of Life are not independent or isolated domains. They continually influence one another, and flourishing within one field often contributes to flourishing in others. Likewise, neglect within one field may affect the health and vitality of the whole. Together they form an interconnected ecology of human participation rather than a collection of separate pursuits.

Each field also represents a domain of stewardship. Wellbeing, relationships, contribution, and the conditions that support life can each be cultivated or neglected. As individuals grow in character and develop the practices of living well, they become increasingly capable of faithfully stewarding these fields. In turn, participation within the Fields of Life continues to deepen understanding, refine character, and contribute to the ongoing process of becoming.
